Crochet With Me at the Vancouver Mini Maker Faire

I’ve got the hooks, I’ve got the yarn and I’ve got the know-how! Come crochet with me at the Vancouver Mini Maker Faire on June 7th at the PNE Forum in Vancouver. I’ll be teaching two crochet workshops:

Get Started with Crochet ($15; ages 16+) 11-11:50am

Learn the basics of crochet: how to select and hold a crochet hook, how to chain stitch, and how to single crochet. Participants will receive all materials needed to begin to crochet a scarf or dishcloth (yarn and crochet hook); however you are welcome to bring your own yarn. A 5mm crochet hook and worsted weight yarn is recommended.

Crochet For Kids ($10; ages 8+) 12-1:00pm

Introduce your child to crochet with just the basics—a crochet hook, small amount of yarn, and helpful guidance. In this one-hour kid-friendly class, your child will learn to hold a crochet hook, do the chain stitch, and walk away with a cute necklace or bracelet they can proudly wear. Suitable for ages 8 and up. Parents are encouraged to attend and support their child.

If you’re keen, you should pre-register here—just a few early spots are available. Not ready to commit just yet? You can register in person on a first-come-first-serve basis at the Faire. You can also read the full list of workshops here.

But wait! There’s more! You can also participate in a Guinness World Record attempt for the most people simultaneously crocheting. For more information on the planned attempt, to register and to learn more about the Maker Faire, Be Part of a Crochet Guinness World Record.

Hope to see you there!
