Evil & Eyelashes

I didn’t think that adding eyelashes to my upcoming Ladybot robot pattern would turn her into an evil-dispensing cranky bot, but it did. Sometimes, the most subtle details make all the difference.

Here’s the Ladybot with eyelashes made from black eyelash novelty yarn going across the top of her entire eye (top image).

“Would you like to be my bestie?”

“I will dominate you with the power of eyelashes!”

Perhaps I’m crazy, but I’m think that she looks utterly devilish and dominant. Not exactly the look I was going for by adding eyelashes. Pondering this, I came up with a new solution.

The bottom image shows the Ladybot with eyelashes on just the outside edges of the top eyelid.

Now, I don’t know what you think, but I think this makes her adorable and flirty. Such a simple thing! I guess it really is, “All in the eye contact” ;). Another reminder of how subtle the art of embellishment really is.
