Never Forget Another Crochet Stitch with this Tip!
Once upon a time when I was teaching private crochet lessons, students would complain that they worked well in class; but, once home, they would forget everything. They would languish away the hours (or minutes depending on their level of patience) trying to re-figure out—how to hold their hook, where to insert the hook, how to do a stitch etc.—which they had so successfully done just a short time ago in class. So frustrating!
Now, while we've all been there, we haven't all fought through the frustration to complete our task or stitch. Things get abandoned and it sucks, truly sucks. So... I came up with an idea...
Ask a friend to take a bird's eye view video of you crocheting. Yes, you. (It's kinda like using "The Force" of your smartphone, which, by now, is an extension of you anyways).
Whatever skill you find difficult to remember, have someone else video it with your smartphone from over your shoulder aiming directly at your hands (getting it as close as possible to your direct line of vision to your hands). Et voilà! You are your own teacher when your muscle memory and memory fail you. Seriously, it's the best thing since sliced bread, or like, a new Star Wars movie... Just try it.
